MCP Server
A Outlook MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor
Connect your AI assistant to Outlook with one URL. Search and read your email, create drafts, and manage automation rules. Sign in with OAuth, no API keys, and it can never send email on its own.
Works with
Connect in under a minute
One remote MCP URL works for every Outlook account you link to Inbox Zero.
{ "mcpServers": { "inbox-zero": { "url": "https://www.getinboxzero.com/mcp" } } }What your assistant can do
The same tools work in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and any MCP client that supports OAuth.
Search your inbox
Find Outlook emails by sender, subject, or content and get back metadata and snippets.
Read threads
Pull the plain-text body of a thread so your assistant can summarize it or answer questions about it.
Create drafts
Draft replies straight into your Outlook drafts folder. The server never sends email.
Manage automation rules
List, create, update, and delete the Inbox Zero rules that label, archive, and draft for you.
Read email stats
Get email volume by period and response-time stats to spot what is filling your inbox.
Multiple inboxes
Works across every inbox linked to your account, including Gmail and Outlook side by side.
Drafts, not sends
The Inbox Zero MCP server has no send tool. Replies your assistant writes land in your Outlook drafts folder until you send them yourself. Read and write access are separate OAuth scopes, and you can disconnect any app from Settings at any time. Inbox Zero is open source, so you can check exactly what the server does, or self-host it.
How to connect
1. Sign up for Inbox Zero with your Outlook account.
2. Turn on MCP under Settings, then Account, then MCP.
3. Add the MCP URL as a custom connector in Claude, an app in ChatGPT developer mode, or an MCP server in Cursor.
4. Sign in when prompted and choose Allow.
Using Gmail too? See the Gmail MCP server, or manage rules from the terminal with the Inbox Zero CLI.
