How to Stop eBay Emails (2026)

Stop eBay emails: change your Communication preferences, turn off saved search alerts and watchlist reminders, and keep the order emails that matter.

eBay emails come from several places: marketing and promotions, saved search alerts, watchlist reminders ("ending soon"), messages, and buying or selling notices. Marketing is handled in one settings page, but saved searches and watchlist items need their own clean-up.

Stop eBay marketing emails

Sign in on the eBay website and go to My eBay.
Open Account settings, then Communication preferences.
Under the marketing section, choose Edit and turn off the promotional emails you don't want. Save your changes.
Review the other sections on the same page (buying, selling, and general notifications) and turn off anything you don't need.

Stop saved search alerts

Saved search emails aren't controlled by marketing preferences. Go to My eBay → Saved searches and turn off email alerts for each search, or delete the ones you no longer need.

Stop watchlist reminders

"Ending soon" reminders come from items on your Watchlist. Remove items you're no longer interested in to stop those emails.

Unsubscribe link

Promotional eBay emails include an unsubscribe link at the bottom, which is the quickest way to stop one type of marketing email.

What keeps coming

Emails about orders, payments, and account security are transactional and continue. If you sell on eBay, keep those on.

Block or filter eBay emails in Gmail or Outlook

If some eBay emails still get through, filter them in your email app so they skip your inbox:

Gmail: open an eBay email, click the three dots (More) at the top, and choose Filter messages like these. Click Create filter, then pick Skip the Inbox (Archive it) or Delete it.
Outlook: right-click an eBay email and choose Rules → Create rule to move messages from that sender to a folder. Or choose Block sender if you never want to see them. Blocking sends future messages to Junk.

A filter is better than blocking if some of the emails (receipts, security alerts) are ones you may need later.
