How to Stop Indeed Emails (2026)

Stop Indeed job alert emails and marketing emails: unsubscribe links, Communication settings, and how to delete job alerts you no longer need.

Indeed emails fall into two groups: job alerts (one for each search you saved or that Indeed created for you) and account and marketing emails such as recommended jobs and career guidance. Each needs a slightly different fix.

How to stop Indeed job alert emails

Indeed's help article "Starting, Stopping, and Managing Job Alerts" covers two options:

From the email: open any job alert email and click the unsubscribe link at the bottom. This stops that alert.
From your account: sign in, go to your job alerts, and pause or delete the alerts you don't need. If you have several alerts, you'll need to delete each one.

How to stop other Indeed emails

Sign in to Indeed and click your profile icon.
Go to Settings, then Communication settings.
Turn off the email types you don't want (for example recommended jobs or career content).

If you're still job hunting

You don't have to go to zero. Deleting duplicate or outdated alerts and keeping one or two focused searches usually cuts the volume a lot while keeping the listings you care about.

Closing your account

Closing your Indeed account stops account emails, but it also deletes your account data, including your resume and application history. Unsubscribing is usually the better option.

Block or filter Indeed emails in Gmail or Outlook

If some Indeed emails still get through, filter them in your email app so they skip your inbox:

Gmail: open an Indeed email, click the three dots (More) at the top, and choose Filter messages like these. Click Create filter, then pick Skip the Inbox (Archive it) or Delete it.
Outlook: right-click an Indeed email and choose Rules → Create rule to move messages from that sender to a folder. Or choose Block sender if you never want to see them. Blocking sends future messages to Junk.

A filter is better than blocking if some of the emails (receipts, security alerts) are ones you may need later.
