How to Stop LinkedIn Emails (2026)

Turn off LinkedIn email notifications category by category, stop job alert emails, and cut LinkedIn's email volume without missing messages that matter.

LinkedIn sends a lot of email: messages, connection invitations, "people you may know," job recommendations, post activity, event reminders, and more. By default almost everything is on.

There's no single master switch, but LinkedIn lets you turn email off (or down) for every category.

How to stop LinkedIn emails (desktop)

These are the steps from LinkedIn's Help Center:

Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
Click Settings & Privacy.
Click Notifications in the left pane.
Click a category (for example Searching for a job, Hiring someone, Connecting with others, Posting and commenting) to see the individual items.
Switch off the email toggle for each item you don't want.
For items you want to keep, choose a lower frequency (for example a weekly digest instead of individual emails).

LinkedIn says the mobile app has the same controls under Settings → Notifications.

How to stop LinkedIn job alert emails

Job alerts you set up from a job search are separate from the notification categories above. Open the Jobs page, go to your job alerts, and turn off or delete the alerts you no longer need. Every job alert email also has a link at the bottom to manage or stop that alert.

Use the unsubscribe link for one-off emails

LinkedIn notes you can also click Unsubscribe in the footer of an email (wherever applicable) to stop that type of email. It's the fastest route when one specific email type is bugging you.

Block or filter LinkedIn emails in Gmail or Outlook

If some LinkedIn emails still get through, filter them in your email app so they skip your inbox:

Gmail: open a LinkedIn email, click the three dots (More) at the top, and choose Filter messages like these. Click Create filter, then pick Skip the Inbox (Archive it) or Delete it.
Outlook: right-click a LinkedIn email and choose Rules → Create rule to move messages from that sender to a folder. Or choose Block sender if you never want to see them. Blocking sends future messages to Junk.

A filter is better than blocking if some of the emails (receipts, security alerts) are ones you may need later.
