Nextdoor sends daily and weekly digests, "trending in your neighborhood" posts, replies to posts you've commented on, and more. The catch is that its email is split into many separate streams, so one unsubscribe click rarely stops everything.

How to stop Nextdoor emails in your settings

Sign in to Nextdoor on the website or app.
Open your Settings (from your profile or menu).
Go to Notifications, then the email options.
Turn off each email type you don't want, including the daily and weekly digests, which are the biggest source of volume.
Check every section on the page. Nextdoor lists email types in separate groups, so it's easy to miss one.

Use the unsubscribe link (with a caveat)

Every Nextdoor email has an unsubscribe link, but it usually stops only that one email stream (for example a single digest or thread), not all Nextdoor email. Use the settings page when you want a bigger cut.

Keep only what matters

If you still want urgent local alerts (safety posts, lost pets), leave those types on and turn off digests and trending posts. That's where most of the volume comes from.

Still flooded?

Some users report that Nextdoor's account deactivation flow offers an option to unsubscribe from all emails, which you can accept and then cancel the deactivation. That's a user-reported workaround, not an official Nextdoor feature, so it may change. If nothing else works, a filter in your email app can catch whatever is left.

Block or filter Nextdoor emails in Gmail or Outlook

If some Nextdoor emails still get through, filter them in your email app so they skip your inbox:

Gmail: open a Nextdoor email, click the three dots (More) at the top, and choose Filter messages like these. Click Create filter, then pick Skip the Inbox (Archive it) or Delete it.
Outlook: right-click a Nextdoor email and choose Rules → Create rule to move messages from that sender to a folder. Or choose Block sender if you never want to see them. Blocking sends future messages to Junk.

A filter is better than blocking if some of the emails (receipts, security alerts) are ones you may need later.
