How to Stop YouTube Emails (2026)

Stop YouTube emails: turn off YouTube email notifications in Settings, unsubscribe from all optional YouTube emails, and stop emails about channel activity.

YouTube can email you about your own activity, product updates, creator news, and recommendations. All optional YouTube email is managed in one place in YouTube's settings.

How to stop YouTube emails

From YouTube Help:

Sign in to YouTube.
Select your profile picture, then Settings.
Click Notifications in the left section.
Under Email notifications, choose your preferences. You can turn off individual types or unsubscribe from all optional YouTube emails.

Unsubscribe from a single YouTube email

YouTube says you can click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any YouTube email to turn off that notification. The page it opens also lets you unsubscribe from certain types of email or all emails from YouTube.

Google account emails aren't YouTube emails

Security alerts and account notices come from your Google Account, not YouTube's notification settings, and they're important for account safety. YouTube's settings won't turn those off, and you shouldn't want them to.

Creators

If you run a channel, check the same Notifications page for creator emails (updates and announcements for creators) and turn off the ones you don't need.

Block or filter YouTube emails in Gmail or Outlook

If some YouTube emails still get through, filter them in your email app so they skip your inbox:

Gmail: open a YouTube email, click the three dots (More) at the top, and choose Filter messages like these. Click Create filter, then pick Skip the Inbox (Archive it) or Delete it.
Outlook: right-click a YouTube email and choose Rules → Create rule to move messages from that sender to a folder. Or choose Block sender if you never want to see them. Blocking sends future messages to Junk.

A filter is better than blocking if some of the emails (receipts, security alerts) are ones you may need later.
